Glint lines up for US launch

Gold currency app Glint is preparing to launch in the US. The London based fintech aims to bring the global currency of gold to the American market and has lined up partnerships with Sutton Bank and Galileo Processing to facilitate its US expansion.

“We are so delighted to have partnered with Sutton Bank and Galileo Processing. It’s been an invigorating experience working with leaders in the US innovative payment sector. With their expertise we aim to provide everyone in the US the chance to use a safe and independent money, that of gold; just as we are doing in the UK and Europe.”

This expansion will be financed by a Series A funding round that saw the company raise £1.25 million via crowdfinding within 72 hours. Japan is also on the expansion list for 2018.

Since coming out of stealth last year, Glint has said it’s aim is to protect clients from the ravages of inflation by allowing them to spend and save in gold anywhere in the world.
